National Qualifications (NQs) are awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). They include: Standard Grade, Access, Intermediate, Higher, Advanced Higher and Skills for Work courses. Colleges also offer NQs, except Standard Grade. NQs are currently being revised. By 2013, a new qualification - the National award – will replace Intermediate and Standard Grade.
